Staff Pick: All Things Emile Henry
Our own Carol Manning’s pick of the month is Emile Henry ceramic bakeware. These beautiful, colorful pieces are handmade in France made out of Burgundy clay, which allows heat to evenly and slowly distribute to the very center of the cooking dish. Carol says once you have one piece, you won’t be able to stop your collection there!
"All things Emile Henry." It took me awhile to purchase my first piece of Emile Henry bakeware: an oval 2 quart casserole dish. However, as the saying goes...the second...and third...times were much easier! I am now a believer and this is why:
- The colors are vibrant and mix-and-match well together;
- The varied shapes and sizes are versatile;
- The beautiful white surface is naturally non-stick and so easy to clean;
- The bakeware can be frozen, baked, broiled, roasted, and put in the dishwasher.
Seriously, what is not to like? If you have waited to make that first purchase of Emile Henry bakeware, like I did, be encouraged to "take the plunge...the water is great!"
