Meet Our Chef
Our In-House Chef Bryan Breland finds inspiration for his cooking in both the expected and unexpected. His love of food and zeal for life come together on the plate as he bridges Classic French training with Southern restaurant experience and the diverse culinary roots he formed growing up as a native of Southern California.
One part Americana, one part Mexican, and one part Thai, Bryan's love affair with food started at an early age. Watching his mother cook with such a fusion of flavors, Chef Bryan was an early culinary student in his mother's kitchen. As soon as he was given the opportunity, he added formal training to his homegrown talent. Chef Bryan went on from there to work in the kitchens of the Sage Room in Hilton Head, SC Caviar & Bananas in Charleston, SC and Huck's Lowcountry Table in Isle is Palms, SC. He then took a hiatus from the restaurant scene and managed a Piggly Wiggly in Mount Pleasant, SC, at which he was able to develop his skills in management and retail. Now Chef Bryan is bringing his passion for food, service, and detail to the Coastal Cupboard Kitchen where he is delighting customers with his suburb food and charming personality.
